You know, electronic stores should post a big sign above the plasma TV section that reads, “Absolutely no women served without the man of the house with her!” Lame I know…but honestly, in our rush to surprise our man…how many of us take the time to consider that that big ol’ Plasma screen TV we are so excited about….is gonna need a TV wall mount and a MAN other than the man the surprise is intended for to put it up!!! Yes, I know!!
I didn’t do any of that! So my amazing surprise awaiting my husband’s return from a very long day at work…did I mention he’s partially paralyzed on the right side…yeah, I know!! So he comes in the door—and finds his new “surprise” TV still in it’s box–and me waiting for him with my keys in hand to head back to said electronics store, to purchase said wall mount, only to come home and have him install his own HUGE plasma screen TV!! Yeah….Good times!!
Happy Anniversary Honey!!
I have spent the last two weeks looking into life insurance. The one thing I haven’t done yet, but will do this week…look into term life insurance quotes at Wholesale Insurance! I was originally hoping to get the insurance with our umbrella policy–you know, capitalize on all of the possible discounts. But they are wanting doctor visits, which for my husband is fine. But we don’t have health insurance on me yet, so it would cost a fortune right now.
I think my insurance kicks back in on February 1st, so until then, I’m still looking!
We have been looking at beds for our youngest son. He’s four and still in his toddler bed. We had always planned to pass the older boys bunk beds down for him to share with his older brother. But the two oldest seemed to play really hard in our old house, and when I took the beds apart when we were moving, I found that they had actually cracked the bed frames. So the second son and our daughter both got new beds when we moved in. I was hoping to get a year or two under our belts before having to look for a bigger bed for the youngin’!
He would love a car shaped bed. But I’m afraid he’ll grow out of that one way too quickly. Does it matter? I mean, paying for a bed that only gets 2 years of use? Or is it better for him to have a bed that he adores. This question made me remember the Friends episode where Monica got a new bed, and it was a big plastic car!! Just like the boys on the show…my baby would LOVE it!!B
I have to tell you….after weeks of nervousness…business has actually started to pick up at my husband’s restaurant. It was getting scary there! They are still on the short side so far this year, but for a small business franchise, they are still doing really well.
They went through and laid off some people right after Christmas, and that was hard–but it seems like they are curbing that right now. Not that his job was in jeopardy, but you know, the future is very uncertain–and right now, I’m just happy there is still a restaurant to work at!
Did you know that in a few years there will no longer be regular light bulbs on the market? I had no idea! We’ll all be moving to the new squirrely curly kind. You know, they are supposed to last 5 years, but if you break them you end up in the emergency room with Mercury poisoning…yeah good times! We had these for our bathroom lighting when we first moved in, and they seemed to burn out just as quickly as the regular bulbs. But the regular bulbs are half the cost! So, in my hording/stockpiling adventures in the coming months, I will now be adding regular light bulbs to the shopping list!
