My in laws have been spending the last week moving out of their house. Since the phones and cable haven’t been set up in the new house yet, they are still living rather basically in their old house. We visited today and it was kind of funny to see an empty house with some lawn chairs, a kitchen table and Samsonite luggage! They are sleeping on air mattresses and living out of suitcases.
Now I could be wrong–but I think I would live in the furnished house with no cable and my cell phone–than live in an empty house with the boob-tube! But that may just be me! ![]()
A couple of weeks ago I decided that after 2 years, I wanted my kitchen back! So I moved all of my office furniture into the one room in the house that is NEVER used! My living room. It’s one of those formal living rooms attached to the formal dining room—and with a family room around the corner, we just really don’t occupy that space all that often.
So my desk is now up against the far wall—and toys and clothes have started dotting the floor. This room that only ever needed dusting once a week has turned into a second family room. Now that mom spends more time in here—everyone else (and the dogs) seem to make themselves comfortable as well!
But it’s really nice having my kitchen back!
My mother in law sent me home tonight with some really cute clothes. They fit for now—but after I find me the best weight loss pills around…I’m hoping they will drown me! I know, I say that a lot. But hey, maybe this time!
Running a cake shop certainly doesn’t help. This coming Thursday, I’m actually going back to class with my 9 year old. He wants to learn the art of decorating—and being self taught, I would rather he learn it correctly the first time. Of course, it’s probably not bad for me to learn how to pipe correctly either!! I’ll let you know how it goes!
Do you ever choose silly favorites? I do. I choose gas stations because of their lighting–and their color. I know—totally lame! I also won’t shop at Dominicks…only Jewel Osco or Walmart because they have the self serve barcode scanner and Dominicks doesn’t. I even drive a little farther to get to either of these stores. I prefer Jewel to Walmart—but Walmart prices kick everybody else out of the water!
There is a huge sale going on this week at Dominicks–and with coupons many of the items either end up free or just pennies. But then I have to go and actually deal with another human being–and after the ease of taking care of myself….I’m just not sure it’s worth it!
I may try one deal—and decide if I’m up for more!
